Come the Blood Moon Night
Come the Blood Moon Night is a densely layered paranormal fantasy that combines urban magic, vampire lore, and destiny-driven conflict into a fascinating continuation of The Champion Chronicles. Flagg once again demonstrates a remarkable command of world-building and character development, giving us a story that is both expansive in scope yet detailed in its emotional stakes.
At the heart of the novel is the protagonist Chris Forbes, a pure-bred warlock whose life straddles two worlds—the human realm and the Second Realm that continues to claim him through prophecy, blood sacrifice, and power. What makes Chris compelling is not just his magical heritage, but his resistance to it. He is moved by love, loyalty, and a desire for normalcy rather than dominance—traits that cause conflict with darker forces that are more ruthless than himself.
The author does an exceptional job balancing action with introspection. The plot of the story accelerates fluidly between high-stakes confrontations involving vampires, warlocks, witches, and mystical guardians, and quieter moments that explore relationships, trust, and the psychological cost of living under constant threat. The romance woven through the story feels earned and grounding. The most striking aspect of this novel is its examination of destiny versus choice. Fans of urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and intricately imagined supernatural worlds will find much to admire here. I highly recommend this paranormal fantasy by M. Flagg.
