Ghost Wars (Bayou Savage, Guitar Ghost Fighter – Book II)

Ghost Wars (Bayou Savage, Guitar Ghost Fighter – Book II) by Dean Russell and Chase Walker is an incredible, fast-paced novel with elements of supernatural action, horror, science fiction, urban fantasy, and Southern adventure.

The book begins right after the events of the first novel in the series, and follows protagonist Bayou Savage, a legendary ghost fighter who wields a mystical guitar that can destroy ghosts. After Bayou awakens after sleeping in a state of suspended quantum animation for nearly two centuries, he's in the distant future alongside his father Razor Savage, psychic Leslie, Bayou's daughter Mist, and former Institute director Quirk. These cast of characters discover that they are living a radically changed world recovering from devastating global religious wars and technological upheaval. These heroes believed they had won the war against the supernatural evil known as the Magi in the previous book, however unsettling nightmares suggest that the ancient evil may be returning.

Authors Russell and Walker showcase intense creativity by creating a thoroughly original supernatural mythology that effortlessly combines paranormal horror, science fiction, and rock-and-roll culture. Together, the authors demonstrate a strong command of pacing and a balance between large-scale action sequences with character-driven moments that keep the narrative interesting throughout the book.
