The Legend of the Half-Blood Guardian

In "The Legend of the Half-Blood Guardian," a disguised ranger protects a kingdom in Southreach's dark woods that would punish him if they discovered who he really is.

Draegon is an outcast who alternates between two worlds; he is half human and half orc. He is the Ghost of the Shadowwood at night, softly defending border towns from invisible dangers. However, Draegon is compelled to come out of the shadows and confront the bloodline he has been hiding from when war drums resound from the Blighted Expanse and a crowned orc warlord emerges with an army behind him.

One question endures as countries fall apart and old powers revive:

Will the half-blood guardian eventually end up becoming the same legend the realm fears, or will it save it?

This book's primary themes are that peace rots without watchfulness and that leadership demands sacrifice.  From the opening page, the author creates a world that is incredibly engrossing, bringing the Shadowwood and the Blighted Expanse to life with startling detail and a vibrant mood.

A.J. Fenwick elevates the story above conventional fantasy into something complex, reflective, and thematically relevant by giving Draegon's half-blood identity emotional depth and richness. Each page of the book draws you more into its dark, captivating universe, which is so beautifully textured and engrossing that it is impossible to put down.
